About our Maple Platforms

Imigi is proud to offer these affordable, "audio-grade", solid maple component platforms. Unlike our "audiophile-grade" platforms (which use flat-grain, thick wood construction), these are constructed using 1 inch thick strips of kiln-dried lumber in a single layer, end-grain construction. This method of construction is much less prone to warpage than single layer, flat-grain construction but with a slight compromize in sonic performance. Yet, these platforms still offer superior performance over traditional "butcher-block" materials found in hardware and kitchen supply stores.
All platforms are surface planed, beveled on all edges, sanded and finished with four coats of clear lacquer.

Audio-grade Maple Platforms
The benefits of solid-maple as a component platform have been known for many years. The sonic properties are unique. In addition to the natural damping properties of maple, when the platform is properly designed, it has a unique ability to allow upper harmonic overtones to fully develop. This is often apparent in the way you can hear a bow drawn across a violin string, the crispness of a sax or in the decay of a drum beat.
Our understanding of the properties of various materials has allowed us to develop some of the finest audio isolation products in the industry.
